The piece

Stainless steel box chain, made from uniform square links that lock together into a flat, even rope. Stainless steel resists rust and corrosion, so it handles hands, sweat and everyday knocks better than softer metals. The finish is applied by electroplating.

Choose silver, a gold-tone finish or a rose gold-tone finish. Each chain closes with a lobster clasp and carries a 2" (5cm) extender chain, so you can shorten or lengthen the drop by a couple of inches without changing the look.

How to wear it

With a white tee it reads as a clean strip of metal at the neckline; under an open collar it shows in glimpses as you move. Match the finish to your watch and rings, silver with steel, gold-tone with gold hardware. It works for the office, dinner and weekends, and the 2mm takes a small pendant without looking crowded.

Choosing your size

The 2mm width comes at 17" (43cm) total including the extender, which sits high on the neck, just below the collarbone. The 3mm width comes at 18.5" (47cm) total, sitting slightly lower and closer to the top of the chest. If you have a broader neck or prefer a looser drop, go with the 3mm; for a closer, more minimal fit, choose the 2mm.

Yes. The chain is stainless steel, which resists rust and corrosion, and the clasp is a standard lobster closure. Rinse off sweat, chlorine and salt water, then dry it to keep the plated finish looking its best.

How do I care for the finish?

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wear and store it away from perfume, lotion and cleaning products. Avoid abrasive cleaners, as the color finish is plated.
