The base is a strand of round 8mm black stone beads. Lava has a rough, porous surface you can feel under the finger; matte black is smooth with no shine; glossy black is polished and catches the light. Whichever you choose, the strand stays dark from end to end, apart from one accent bead.
That accent bead is either lapis, a deep blue stone, or grey stone for a quieter contrast. Two brown spacer discs frame it and mark the center of the bracelet. The whole strand runs on elastic, so it rolls on over the hand. Stone and elastic are happiest dry; lava, being porous, also takes in perfume and oils, so keep both off it.
