It is a Miami Cuban link in stainless steel, cut wide, from 6mm up to 12mm, and it closes with a fold-over box clasp that sits in line with the links instead of a small hook. Choose silver steel or gold-tone, in 18 to 24 in. The 12mm comes in gold-tone only.

This chain uses the Miami Cuban link: wide, rounded links pressed close together so the chain lies flat and heavy on the chest. It is made of stainless steel, which does not rust, so the gym, the shower and the beach are part of its normal day. The width starts at 6mm and goes up to 12mm, a real step up from a fine everyday chain.
The closure is a fold-over box clasp: a hinged section folds down into a box and clicks shut, following the shape of the links. On a wide chain it is easier to handle than a small lobster. Silver is the natural steel; gold-tone is an electroplated finish, and we say so plainly. The 12mm width is made in gold-tone only.
How to wear it
A wide Cuban is a chain to wear on its own, over a tee, a hoodie or an open shirt. The 6mm and 8mm sit well with a watch and one ring; the 10mm and 12mm are the main event, so keep everything else simple. Gold-tone lifts black and white outfits; silver steel looks right with denim, grey and a steel watch.

Lengths are 18 in (45cm), snug at the base of the neck; 20 in (50cm), just below the collarbone; 22 in (55cm) for a lower fall; and 24 in (60cm) to rest mid-chest. Wide chains usually look most balanced at 20 or 22 in. If he has a thick neck, go one length up.
