- Take a string or a shoelace and mark on it the length you are considering, for example 56 cm.
- Hold the two marks together at the back of your neck, wearing the kind of top you usually wear.
- Look in a mirror: the lowest point of the string is where the chain will sit.
- Too high or too low? Try 5 cm more or less: that is one size up or down.
Already own a chain you like? Lay it flat, clasp closed, and measure it end to end. A broad neck or chest makes every length sit a little higher.

The chain is stainless steel, so the core does not rust. Each link is twisted into the classic rope pattern, which gives the chain a braided surface and a smooth, rounded profile against the neck. Water, sweat and salt do not harm the steel underneath, so the chain can stay on day and night.
The gold-tone is a plated finish over the steel, and we say it plainly. Choose 3mm for an everyday chain or 5mm for a heavier look. Both ends are capped and closed with a lobster clasp that opens with one hand. Clean lines, no logos, nothing to snag on a collar.
How to wear it
With a white tee it does most of the work on its own. Under an open shirt collar it shows a link or two and reads quieter, right for the office or dinner. Pair it with a gold-tone watch or a second, thinner chain for a layered look; it also takes a pendant well, especially at the longer lengths.

Lengths are 18" (45 cm), 20" (50 cm), 22" (55 cm) and 24" (60 cm). 18" sits close to the base of the neck, 20" lands around the collarbone and suits most men, 22" drops just below it, and 24" sits on the upper chest, the easiest choice for a pendant or layering. Pick 3mm for subtle everyday wear, 5mm for a main piece.

Can the gold-tone twisted rope chain stay on day and night?
Yes. Water, sweat and salt do not harm the stainless steel core. After the pool or the sea, rinse it in fresh water so the gold-tone stays even.
Will the gold-tone hold up?
Like any plated finish, it lasts longer when you avoid harsh chemicals and heavy friction. Put it on after perfume and store it away from cleaning products.
What if I am unsure of his length?
