Both finishes are polished: a bright silver-tone and a warm gold-tone, the gold-tone applied by electroplating. Can the fine 2mm to 3mm rope chain handle the pool and the sea?

Yes. Stainless steel does not rust, so water and sweat do it no harm. On the gold-tone, rinse off chlorine or salt and dry it with a soft cloth to keep the color even.

Which width for a pendant?

2.5mm or 3mm. They carry the weight of a pendant better and keep the proportions balanced against it.

How do I keep it from knotting?

Store it flat or hanging so the links do not tangle, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wear. Keep harsh chemicals away.

Is a 2mm chain too thin for a man?
