Measure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
- Take a string or a shoelace and mark on it the length you are considering, for example 22".
- Hold the two marks together at the back of your neck, wearing the kind of top you usually wear.
- Look in a mirror: the lowest point of the string is where the chain will sit.
- Too high or too low? Try 2" more or less: that is one size up or down.
Already own a chain you like? Lay it flat, clasp closed, and measure it end to end. A broad neck or chest makes every length sit a little higher.
No ruler? A bank card is 3.4" long: count how many fit along your strip.

Chain width
Six widths, from a quiet thread to a rope people notice.
Atlas carried the world. You carry your day: the alarm, the job, the people who need you to show up. A rope chain moves differently than a flat link, which is why it suits a man who keeps moving. The twisted stainless steel strands turn as you turn and pick up light from every angle. Six widths from 2 to 6mm and five lengths from 16 to 24 inches.
- Steel that shrugs off sweat and sea water
- Six widths, from 2 to 6mm
- Lobster clasp, one-hand use
Details & specs
Made from stainless steel, a practical choice for something worn every day: it does not rust and it keeps its shape through regular wear. You can leave it on in the shower, at the gym and in the sea. The rope pattern is built from links twisted into a continuous spiral, which gives the chain texture and a rounded profile rather than a flat one.
The finish is electroplated for an even steel-tone shine, and we prefer to say so. It closes with a lobster clasp that opens easily with one hand and stays shut once fastened. Widths run 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm, from a fine detail to a chain seen across the room.
How to wear it
With a white tee and jeans, a 3mm or 4mm at 20" sits just below the collarbone and looks effortless. Under an open collar, go narrower and shorter so the chain frames the neckline instead of competing with it. For a bolder look, take the 5mm or 6mm at 22" or 24" and let it fall on the chest, or layer a shorter chain above it.
Choosing your size
Lengths are 16", 18", 20", 22" and 24". On most men 16" sits high at the neck, 18" (45 cm) close to its base, 20" (50 cm) just below the collarbone, and 22" or 24" (55 to 60 cm) on the chest, good over a tee. For width, 2mm to 3mm is understated and 5mm or 6mm is bold. If he is broad through the neck, size up one length.
Why this piece
Texture that reads as detail
The twisted rope pattern gives the chain depth, so it looks considered even with a plain shirt and no pendant.
Put it on and leave it
Stainless steel does not rust and does not turn your skin green, so sweat, showers and salt water are part of its day.

Questions
Will sweat or salt water affect the steel-tone rope chain?
No. The stainless steel does not rust, so sweat, showers and sea water are part of its day. Rinse it after the sea and store it apart from other jewelry to protect the electroplated finish.
How do I clean the twist?
Use warm water with a little mild soap and work gently between the twists with a soft brush. Rinse, then dry it fully with a soft cloth.
Should I layer two widths?
It works well: a 2mm or 2.5mm at 18" above a 4mm or 5mm at 22". Keep a gap between the lengths so the two chains do not tangle.
What does steel tone mean?
It is an electroplated finish in the natural color of steel, applied over stainless steel for an even shine along the whole twist.
Is 6mm too bold for the office?
For the office, 2mm to 3mm under a shirt is easier. The 6mm is a bold chain, made to fall on the chest at 22 or 24 in.
Which rope chain width works with jeans and a white tee?
A 3mm or 4mm at 20". It sits just below the collarbone and looks effortless; take the 5mm or 6mm at 22" or 24" for a bolder fall on the chest.
Rope chain or Figaro: which has more texture?
The rope chain. Its spiral gives a rounded, textured profile, while a Figaro is a flat chain with a pattern of short and long links.
What if 16 in feels too tight?
Contact us within 2 hours of ordering and we can change the length before it ships. After that, return the unworn chain in its original packaging within 30 days and order a longer one; we do not offer exchanges.
