Atlas never asked for a lighter load, only for the strength to hold it. This rolo chain is built on the same idea: rounded box links in stainless steel, each locked into the next, keeping an even profile from clasp to clasp. It sits flat and catches small, even flashes of light. Choose 2, 3 or 4mm, silver, gold-tone or black, and a length from 18 to 30 inches.

Built from stainless steel in a rounded box link, where each square-set link locks into the next for a smooth, continuous line. The links keep their profile from end to end, with no twist and no flattening as you move. Stainless steel does not rust, so sweat, showers and salt water are simply part of its day.

Silver is the bare steel. Gold-tone and black are electroplated finishes, and we would rather you know it up front. Widths run 2mm, 3mm and 4mm, so the same design can read quiet or heavy depending on your choice. A lobster clasp closes it, and the chain comes alone, ready for a pendant if you want one.

With a white tee, a 20" or 22" in 3mm sits just below the collar line and does the work on its own. Under an open shirt, go 2mm for something only noticed up close, or 4mm if the chain should be the point. Match the finish to your watch and rings, or run a longer black chain over a dark knit for a low-contrast look at dinner.

Lengths are 18" (45 cm), high on the neck; 20" (50 cm), at the collarbone; 22" (55 cm), just below it and the most common pick; 24" and 26" (60 to 65 cm), toward the upper chest and good with a pendant; and 30" (75 cm), a long, deliberate drape. Widths: 2mm fine, 3mm balanced, 4mm bold. For a slimmer neck, 20" is the better fit.

Is the rolo chain in black or gold-tone fine at the pool?

Yes. The stainless steel does not rust. After the pool or the sea, a rinse in fresh water and a soft cloth keep the electroplated black and gold-tone even; the silver is bare steel.

Which rolo width should I wear under an open shirt?

2mm if you want it noticed only up close, 4mm if the chain should be the point. With a white tee, the 3mm at 20" or 22" does the work on its own.

Will the black and gold-tone finishes last?

They are electroplated finishes made for regular wear. Put the chain on after perfume and keep abrasive cleaners away to help the color stay even.

What is a rolo chain?

A rolo uses rounded box links: square-set links with softened edges that lock into one another for a smooth, continuous line.

How is a rolo different from a cable chain?

A cable chain uses flat oval links. A rolo's rounded box links have more volume, so it looks fuller at the same width.

Who is the 30 in rolo length for?

A man who wants a long, deliberate drape. At 30" (75 cm) it is the longest of the six lengths, for example a black rolo worn over a dark knit for a low-contrast look.

Which width works with a pendant?

Does it twist as I move?
