The band is tungsten carbide, one of the hardest materials used in men's rings, and it does not rust. The outside carries a brushed black finish that stays matte and low-glare instead of mirror-bright. The groove around the exterior and the full inside of the band carry a polished gold-tone finish for contrast. Both colors are plated finishes, and we say so.
Two round cubic zirconia stones sit in the black surface on either side of the groove, set low and flush so they do not snag on cuffs or pockets. The flat profile and 8mm width give the ring a straight, architectural line rather than a rounded dome. It is a strong ring that still looks tidy on the hand.
