The piece

Stainless steel through the chain and clasp. The Figaro link alternates one elongated link with shorter flattened links, and each link is polished on the face so the chain reads bright without looking busy. Steel is a hard, corrosion-resistant metal, which is why it suits something you wear every day rather than only on occasions.

It closes with a lobster clasp that opens with one thumb and holds flat against the neck or wrist. Two widths, 2.5mm and 3mm, and a choice of natural steel color or a gold-tone finish. The 3mm gives a little more presence; the 2.5mm is the quieter option.

With a white or black tee, a 20 or 22 inch chain lands just below the collarbone and stays visible all day.
