You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
With a ring that fits (most accurate)
- Lay a ring you wear on that finger on the ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in millimetres.
- Find that diameter in the table below.
With a strip of paper
- Wrap the strip around the base of your finger: it must still slide over the knuckle.
- Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and measure it in millimetres: that is the circumference. Find it in the table below.
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger.
No ruler? A bank card is 8.6 cm long: count how many fit along your strip.

Half sizes sit halfway between two rows (about 0.4 mm of diameter).
Good to know: measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger. Wide bands (8 mm and more) feel tighter: if you are between two sizes, take the larger one.
Matte from above, with a thin bright line tracing each side.
Atlas shouldered the heavens and stayed upright. Steady is the point, and this ring is steady in every sense. It is a wide, flat stainless steel band with a brushed center panel, then a fine polished groove and a mirror beveled edge on each side. On the hand it sits flat and even: matte from above, with a thin bright line along each edge. Black, gold-tone or silver-tone, in ten US sizes from 5 to 14.
- Does not rust, ready for the shower
- Polished grooves frame the matte center
- Ten US sizes, from 5 to 14
Details & specs
The band is made from stainless steel, a metal that resists rust and corrosion and takes daily knocks without complaint. The center panel is brushed to a soft matte, so it holds its tone instead of throwing reflections. That makes the ring easy to wear at work, where a mirror-bright band can feel like too much, and easy to keep on afterwards.
On each side of that panel runs a fine polished groove, then a beveled edge with a mirror finish. The inside is smooth and polished against the skin. The silver-tone is the steel itself; the black and gold-tone are plated finishes, and we say so. No stones, no engraving and no logo on show, just a clean geometric shape.
How to wear it
Wear it alone on the ring or index finger for a clean, modern look with a white tee and denim. The black version pairs naturally with a dark watch and a leather strap; the gold-tone version warms up a navy suit or an open collar. Because the shape is simple and geometric, it also sits well beside a plain wedding band or a second thin ring.
Choosing your size
The ring comes in US sizes 5 through 14 in whole sizes, so it fits slim fingers and broad hands alike, and the unisex shape works as a matching pair. This is a wide band, and wide bands feel tighter than thin ones: if you are between sizes or your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger, take the next size up.
Why this piece
Made for every day
Stainless steel does not rust and handles keys, desks, gym bags and showers better than softer metals.
Contrast from every angle
The matte center and polished edges make a simple shape look considered, and the brushed panel hides small marks well.

Questions
Will swimming mark the polished edges of the brushed panel ring?
Water will not hurt it, since stainless steel resists rust. The bright edges can pick up fine marks over time from daily contact, while the brushed panel hides them well.
Is it only for men?
No. The design is unisex, and with US sizes 5 through 14 it works as a single ring or as a matching pair for two.
Which brushed panel ring finish suits a navy suit?
Gold-tone, a plated finish that warms up a navy suit or an open collar. Black pairs with a dark watch and a leather strap.
What is the difference between the groove and the bevel?
Each side has both: first a fine polished groove next to the brushed panel, then a mirror-polished beveled edge. Together they draw a thin bright line along each side of the matte center.
What does the silver-tone version look like?
It is the steel itself, with no plating: a soft matte center and bright polished edges in the same cool tone.
How do I clean a brushed ring?
Wipe it with a soft cloth, and use mild soap and warm water for fingerprints. Skip abrasive polish, which would turn the matte panel shiny.
How does a flat band feel compared with a domed one?
A flat band sits evenly and shows its full face, which suits a brushed panel like this one. A domed band curves away at the edges; this ring softens its edges with bevels instead.
What size should a woman order?
Her usual US size. The range starts at 5, so slim fingers are covered, and because the band is wide she should go up one size if she is between two.
