Measure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
- Take a string or a shoelace and mark on it the length you are considering, for example 56 cm.
- Hold the two marks together at the back of your neck, wearing the kind of top you usually wear.
- Look in a mirror: the lowest point of the string is where the chain will sit.
- Too high or too low? Try 5 cm more or less: that is one size up or down.
Already own a chain you like? Lay it flat, clasp closed, and measure it end to end. A broad neck or chest makes every length sit a little higher.
No ruler? A bank card is 8.6 cm long: count how many fit along your strip.

Chain width
Eight lengths, five widths: from barely there to centerpiece.
Atlas never put the sky down to rest. Your days rarely pause either, so this chain is made to stay on through all of them. The twisted stainless steel strands turn as they move, catching light from one angle and then another: texture without a shine that shouts. Over a white tee or under an open collar, it reads clean at arm's length and detailed up close. Five widths, eight lengths.
- Keep it on in the shower and at the gym
- Five widths, 2 to 5mm
- Eight lengths, 16 to 30 in
Details & specs
The chain is stainless steel, with links twisted into a continuous rope pattern along its full length. Stainless steel is a practical choice for something worn every day: it does not rust, and it holds its shape without bending out of line. Water, sweat and salt are no reason to take it off.
The finish is a silver-tone electroplated surface, applied evenly so the twist reads the same from clasp to clasp. It closes with a lobster clasp you can work with one hand and trust to stay shut through a full day. Widths run 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 4.0mm and 5.0mm, from a fine line to a bold one.
How to wear it
At 2.0mm or 2.5mm it sits close and quiet, good under a shirt with just a hint at the collar. At 4.0mm or 5.0mm it becomes the piece you build the outfit around: white tee, dark jacket, a watch on the wrist. Two lengths in different widths layer well, the shorter near the collarbone and the longer on the chest.
Choosing your size
Lengths run 16" (40cm) to 30" (75cm), with 18", 20", 22", 24", 26" and 28" in between. For most men 20" (50cm) sits just below the collarbone and is the easiest daily choice; 22" to 24" (55 to 60cm) drops to mid-chest; 18" (45cm) sits high and close to the neck. Widths: 2.0 to 2.5mm understated, 3.0mm the middle, 4.0 to 5.0mm seen.
Why this piece
Rope texture, not flat shine
The twisted strands catch light from several directions as you move, a depth a flat link chain does not have.
Steel that stays on
It does not rust and does not turn your skin green, so you can put it on in the morning and forget it until night.

Questions
Can I put the twisted rope chain on in the morning and keep it on at the beach?
Yes. Stainless steel does not rust, so water, sweat and salt are no reason to take it off. A soft cloth after the sea keeps the electroplated silver-tone even.
Which length works over a tee?
22" or 24" (55 to 60cm) drops to mid-chest and shows well over a tee. For a longer, layered look, the 26" to 30" lengths hang lower still.
How do I store it?
Keep it apart from other jewelry so the links do not rub, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth to remove oils and dust before putting it away.
How should a 4mm or 5mm twisted rope be styled?
As the piece you build the outfit around: a white tee, a dark jacket and a watch on the wrist. The 2.0mm and 2.5mm stay close and quiet under a shirt.
Can I layer two widths of the twisted rope chain?
Yes. Two lengths in different widths layer well: the shorter one near the collarbone and the longer one on the chest, for example 2.0mm at 18" over 4.0mm at 24".
Which twisted rope width and length balance a pendant?
3.0mm or wider, at 22" or 24" (55 to 60cm), so the pendant sits mid-chest and the twist matches its weight.
Will the twist bend out of shape?
No. Stainless steel holds its shape, so the rope keeps its line with daily wear. Store it laid out or hanging rather than bunched up.
Is 16 in a choker length?
Close to it. 16 in (40cm) sits at the base of the neck, so it suits a slim neck or the top chain of a layered pair.
